Badge ("we," "our," "us," or "Company") operates a professional reputation and feedback platform that enables professionals to give and receive feedback, build trust scores, and enhance their professional reputation ("Badge," "Platform," "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services. By using Badge, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: Full name, email address, profile photograph, Google Sign-in authentication tokens, professional information including job title, employer, work history.

Professional Network Data: Device contacts (with your explicit permission) to identify professional colleagues, employment history and organizational affiliations, professional relationship connections.

Feedback and Content: Written feedback and reviews about professional interactions, voice recordings for audio feedback (when available), trust score inputs and professional assessments.

B. Information Collected Automatically

Device and Technical Information: IP addresses (including multiple sources through proxy headers), device identifiers, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, device model, and hardware characteristics.

Usage Analytics: App usage patterns, session duration, feature interactions, navigation paths, clicks, performance metrics, crash logs, and error reports.

Attribution and Marketing Data: Installation source tracking and referral attribution, marketing campaign effectiveness, device fingerprinting for attribution matching across platforms.

C. Information from Third Parties

Google Services: Google Sign-in profile information (name, email, photo), Google contacts (with permission), Google Analytics data. Firebase Services: Authentication status, crash reporting, push notification delivery. Error Monitoring (Sentry): Application error logs and performance data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Core Service Functions: Account management, creating and maintaining your Badge profile and authentication, professional networking through contact matching and relationship mapping, trust score calculation using our proprietary algorithms to generate reputation scores, facilitating professional feedback exchange.

Service Enhancement: Analytics and insights to understand user behavior and improve platform functionality, technical support and customer service, security and fraud prevention to detect suspicious activity and protect user accounts.

Communication: Service updates about platform changes, new features, and account activity, marketing communications about Badge features (with opt-out options), support communications and customer assistance.

Attribution and Analytics: Marketing attribution to track installation sources and referral effectiveness, performance monitoring to analyze app performance and identify areas for improvement.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We DO NOT Sell Your Personal Information. We share information with:

Essential Service Providers: Firebase (Google) for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications; Google Services for sign-in authentication, contact matching, analytics; Sentry for error monitoring and performance tracking; Cloud infrastructure for secure data hosting and platform operations.

Professional Network: Feedback content is shared with relevant professional colleagues as part of the service. Trust scores and professional reputation data are visible to your professional network. Employment verification data may be shared with confirmed colleagues and employers.

Legal and Safety Requirements: Law enforcement when required by valid legal process, protection of rights, property, or safety of Badge, users, or the public, business transfers (merger, acquisition, asset sale) with continued privacy protection.

4. Mobile App Permissions

Required Permissions: Network Access for internet connectivity and core platform functionality, Storage for local data caching and offline functionality.

Optional Permissions (With User Consent): Contacts to identify professional colleagues and build your network, Microphone for voice feedback recordings (when feature is available), Camera for profile photos and professional verification, Push Notifications for updates about feedback, trust score changes, and platform activity.

You can modify these permissions through your device settings. Disabling permissions may limit some platform features.

5. Your Privacy Rights

All Users: Access - Request information about personal data we hold about you; Correction - Update or correct inaccurate personal information; Deletion - Request deletion of personal data (subject to platform integrity requirements); Objection - Object to certain processing activities.

California Residents (CCPA): Right to Know categories and specific pieces of personal information collected; Right to Delete personal information (with exceptions); Right to Opt-Out of sale/sharing of personal information; Non-Discrimination regardless of privacy rights exercise.

6. Data Security

Technical Safeguards: Industry-standard encryption for data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure cloud infrastructure with access controls, regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, multi-factor authentication for administrative access.

Important Notice: No system is completely secure. While we implement robust protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

7. Data Retention

Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for reasonable period after deletion for business purposes. Feedback and Trust Scores: Professional feedback may be retained permanently to maintain the integrity of other users' trust scores, even after account deletion.

Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement. Marketing Data: Attribution and marketing data retained for 7 years for business analysis.

8. Children's Privacy

Badge is intended for professional users ages 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete such information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Notification of Changes: Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Non-material changes will be posted on our website with updated "Last Modified" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated policy.
